YOU

yayyy... good thing I just worked 8+ hours, I'm sweaty, an hour away from home, and this business casual frock isn't quite up to the Marchesa Fall 2016 Line standards...

But you're a #GIRLBOSS, we get it. You're too focused and productive during the day to have enough time to leave early and change for a night out, but you'd also never pass up the new bar in town on a Friday night. Can one outfit work for it all? Yes!

Here are our tricks to keeping you looking confident during the day and fierce at night:

1. LAYERS

Think blazers, cardis, scarves, etc. Anything removable and easy enough to hold in the bar, but also covers the unacceptable cleavage at the office. This makes it easy to look presentable during the day, while saving the second layer for the bar scene at night (refer to Tip 2!).

#ProTip: When shopping, try looking for outerwear items that go from Blazer to Bomber. Blazers are the key to sophistication in a professional setting and bombers add attention-grabbing-drama when out on the town. This jacket (similar here) from H&M is a staple piece when I'm doing Fridays sunrise to sunset. Perfect for the chilly nights too!

2. BACK DETAILS

Using your new layering skills, pair a structured cover up with a flirty blouse underneath. Opt for a top that will show off your straight-out-the-gym back muscles after you hit the coat check later on. Hidden during the day... game changer at night. They'll never see it comin'.

I looooove this airy, long sleeve Free People top in ivory, worn with a bralette to add some extra feminine detail. Tuck it in, wear it out. So. Many. OptionsSSsSsss.

3. VERSATILE BOTTOMS

Ok, here's the hardest part. If you work in a setting that doesn't allow you to wear jeans everyday (aka my job), it can be SO FREAKING hard to look trendy and professional. Double button pleated pants are for secretaries.. and we ain't satisfied with secretary (thank you j. cole). Time to find some creative solutions.

Fitted and skinnies that AREN'T leggings. Leggings scream "no it's fine, I'll stay at minimum wage forever." Let's get it together here. Promotions don't come wrapped in spandex. Focus on material and structure. Although these blue pants are fitted, they promote sophistication because of the thicker material and pocket details. The high waisted grey pants give off an effortlessly put together look while maintaining comfort and girl-on-the-go cool.

Pencil skirts are another classic go to, and when in all doubt and desperation... dress it up! Can't go wrong with a chic LBD.
