The Best Salt and Sugar Scrubs to Prep Your Skin for Summer

I love discovering a good skincare brand. It's like finding light at the end of a very dark, blemish-inducing tunnel, especially having uber sensitive skin. I'm a porcelain, blue-eyed...ginger, to give you an idea of my complexion. My skin is SO sensitive, my lips break out if I use the wrong tooth paste...not kidding.

So trust me when I tell you I know a thing or two about awesome, all-natural skincare.

I came across Franklin & Whitman via Instagram, and the first thing I noticed was that they are a cause-related brand. My interest was sparked, especially because their social mission is donating 5% of all Franklin & Whitman sales to Dog Rescue organizations.

But that's not totally why I was on board with this company (though I have an undying love for dogs) - it was their ingredients. Plant-based, cruelty free, paraben free, and their packaging is recyclable. I reviewed their body scrubs, and I want to give you a full breakdown of what each does for you:

Logan Square Salt Scrub

sea salt, matcha green tea, lemongrass

Scrubs in general are great exfoliants, but picture a detox exfoliant. Green tea is known for its antioxidant properties, which helps rid the skin of toxins. Sea salt is ah-mazing for repairing blemished skin, and strengthens the barrier function of the skin.

East Passyunk Sugar Scrub

brown sugar, vanilla, grapefruit

Okay - this sounds heavenly. And it is absolutely incredible. I loved the smell, and the way it made my skin so supple. Grapefruit oil brightens and evens the tone of the skin.

Midtown Village Sugar Scrub

turbinado sugar, fair trade coffee, vanilla

If you weren't aware, coffee tightens and tones the skin. Coffee ingredients also help reduce skin aging (a little tip I picked up from working at a luxury day spa!) and I LOVE this product for that.

Point Breeze Salt Scrub

himalayan pink salt, coconut, lime

Another skin #ProTip I learned from working at a spa was the power of Himalayan pink salt. Himalayan pink salt lamps were placed throughout the spa for relaxation as it acts as a spirit lifter. We would also use Himalayan pink salt in our "ion cleanses" which was basically a foot soak detox. So this product had me at Himalayan pink salt, and it was just game over from there. My hands down favorite product of the bunch, it made my skin invigorated, while cleansing and hydrating!
