#blogstuff: White Monochromatic for 4th of July
4th of July at "the shore" is a morning to night ordeal, all 3 days of the long weekend (thank you Ben Franklin). You never know what craziness might ensue. What pool you might jump in, what bar you'll end up at, and at some point, your toes will be in the sand if you're doing it right. You have to be ready (along with your liver, bank account, and dignity) for any situation, but that's part of the reason we love it here.
This Independence Day, Cass and I decided to shake up the mix-match, non-coordinated, red, white and blue concoction of an outfit that we usually sport on the 4th, and try something a lil more mature and put together. Monochrome. Because, adulting.
After scanning my wardrobe for options, I first realized I need to up my monochrome game. I was struggling. Red top, no bottoms. Denim on denim to get an all blue look.. more like 90 degree weather meets the '90's. I think we can do better. Alas, all white separates floated down from the heavens.
I paired this super lightweight, open back Free People sweater with some rolled Obey skinnies. Throw on some slides (currently obsessing over anything metallic - peep 'nothing else metals' by Essie) and you're good to go! Of course, throwing Quay shade as always.
